Con algunos aspectos mejorables tanto en su gameplay como en el apartado técnico y algo escaso de opciones, Smoots World Cup Tennis sí deja pinceladas que le permiten ser una buena opción para todo el mundo que quiera pasar un buen rato y dar unos raquetazos.

Smoots World Cup Tennis è un titolo di tennis arcade che non soddisfa pienamente. L’estetica del gioco è sicuramente piacevole e divertente, e le importanti possibilità di personalizzazione del proprio personaggio strappano più di un sorriso. Accanto a queste note positive, però, troviamo un gameplay che presenta magagne nel sistema di controllo, nel contatto della pallina con la racchetta, e in altre scelte che non ci hanno convinto. L’esperienza di gioco, così, risulta abbastanza piatta e ripetitiva, ad eccezione dei minigiochi presenti nella carriera, e del multiplayer, che comunque rappresenta una possibile sfida. Un gioco che dunque non raggiunge una sufficienza piena, ma che in ogni caso non sconsigliamo del tutto agli appassionati del genere, specie nell’eventualità di un ribasso del prezzo.

Smoots World Cup Tennis is a horrendously developed game that will only serve disappointment. The entire experience is full of poor design choices and technical issues. Furthermore, there’s no shot variety present, nor is there any consistency as far as ball movement is concerned. It may look colorful and sport lots of customization options, but in the face of its sheer lack of mechanical depth and overall polish, that’s hardly a saving grace.

Smoots World Cup Tennis tries to be this whacky and hilarious arcade sports game, plastered with all manner of customisation options and silly characters that parody real life people, but the bugs, the constant replays after every point, the awful visuals and voice clips, the boring gameplay, and just the obvious lack of care to optimise for Switch make this an easy pass.
