An almost perfect little horror game that is tightly designed, based on a fantastic premise that is realised almost to its fullest and runs well with great audio and visuals.
Good!

The Cabin Factory is a smart, tightly focused horror vignette that delivers sustained atmosphere, clever anomaly design, and a quietly affecting narrative thread. Its simple inspector loop sharpens tension and makes every choice matter, while minimalist sound and staging amplify dread without relying on cheap shocks. The short runtime and subtle storytelling hold it back from perfection for some players, but at its price and scope it’s a polished, highly recommendable experience for fans of liminal, psychological horror.

Beautifully simple by design and executed just as deftly, The Cabin Factory is a genuinely creepy, occasionally terrifying, play on space, design and things that go bump in the night (and in weird factories). Chilling.

There are quite a few anomaly-finding games out there, but The Cabin Factory has a few unique twists that help to set it apart from the rest. The story is nothing to write home about, but let’s be honest, that’s not what most people are going to care about. What’s important is that the game is fun, easy to play, and delivers on some satisfying scares. It’s a short game, taking about an hour or so to see everything it has to offer, but for its low three dollar price tag, it’s well worth checking out.

The Cabin Factory is s surprisingly unique and enjoyable liminal horror experience. While the gameplay is limited, it does require a bit of thinking and investigating skills as the game will do things to throw you off. However, it is annoying that you have to start over everytime to miss a decision. Every horror game fans should definitely pick this up as it’ll keep you busy for an hour or so, depending on how your investigating skills are.

Overall, The Cabin Factory is a very good narrative-driven story, and while the gameplay isn’t the most exciting, the twists and turns make up for it. This is definitely a tale perfect for any horror fan and a must-try for this Halloween season.

I appreciate how The Cabin Factory builds upon this new walking simulator area of the horror game genre established by The Exit 8, as it does really make picking out anomalies feel critical and helpful in understanding what’s happening. The implementation of some story elements adds insights that might even make it more scary for some people. However, I do think maybe it needs a patch or two with some balancing or adjustments to make sure there aren’t situations that might feel unwinnable. But if you do like these types of horror experience, it’s a fun one.

The Cabin Factory offers a unique horror experience, focusing on psychological tension and atmosphere rather than traditional jump scares. The combination of liminal spaces, implicit storytelling, and industrial settings makes it a memorable title, leaving players with a lingering sense of unease even after the game ends.
Despite its short duration, the game deeply engages and unsettles, proving that horror doesn’t need big budgets or elaborate visual effects to be effective. If you’re seeking a short yet intense horror experience, The Cabin Factory definitely deserves a place in your collection.

The Cabin Factory is a small indie horror experiment that, despite its simplicity, delivers. It doesn’t reinvent the genre or offer deep gameplay, but it builds tension effectively with minimal, well-crafted elements. A short, atmospheric experience that proves even limited resources can tell a disturbing and engaging story.

[...]The Cabin Factory ends up being a somewhat bureaucratic game. Almost everything in it has a decent execution, coming from people who know what they're doing, which is enough to attract the attention of a potential player. However, it doesn't captivate its public emotionally nor does it offer immersion, as players will see themselves in a position of more rationalization about the possibilities than really delivering a distress feeling.

The Cabin Factory is a horror walking sim that somehow combines the frights of isolated cabin hauntings with the terrors of the 9 to 5. It does become repetitive and sometimes feels unfair, but remains entertaining enough for the hour or two it'll take to complete it.

I had a fun 90 minutes. Well, fun might be the wrong word. Intense, maybe. I'm not going to venture into any cabins for quite some time, let me tell you - even the fancy ones you find at large Garden Centres scare me a little now, if I'm being honest. Like I said, I like gimmicks. The Cabin Factory is that horror movie you rented because you wanted to turn off your brain and have a good time with your friends, and Don't Look Now wasn't going to deliver the right vibes even though the guy at the counter insisted it was better. It does the job.

For the pricetag of £2.49, The Cabin Factory does its job and provides an hour or two of enjoyable playtime. It’s a short but sweet experience for those who enjoy both horror and ‘spot the difference’ types of games. However, it could have included improved scares and more anomalies to make the overall objective that much harder to complete.

I had a pretty decent time playing through The Cabin Factory. It’s a really unique and interesting approach to the horror genre. It definitely has the ability to eventually be a contender for one of the best. That being said, the ending (which I have and haven’t mentioned) really did disappoint me. I also found that once you were in the post-game and just had endless cabins coming at you that things got really repetitive for very little reward.
I really am looking forward to seeing where this game goes and I will revisit it at some point but for right now, it just didn’t live up to the hype.
As a result, I have to give The Cabin Factory the Silver Thumb Culture Award.

Anomaly hunting in the style of Cabin In The Woods sounds like a great premise on paper, but The Cabin Factory falls foul of malfunction thanks to overly repetitive and bland gameplay, with too small an environment to maintain any form of tension. It does attempt some semblance of a story and it may do well as a quick experience for streamers, but there's little else beyond that to recommend it above established cult classics like Exit 8.
