"Hidden Runaway" nos ha encantado. Quizás no es la obra más completa de Pendulo Studios ni tampoco uno de sus títulos más punteros, pero es tan divertido y variado que consigue sacar nuestra sonrisa en todo momento. Su profanación sobre los hidden objects ha sido a lo grande, y aunque prefiero su línea habitual no me importaría jugar cada cierto tiempo a una pequeña joyita como está. Sin duda, recomendable.  

Hidden Runaway es uno de los mejores juegos de esta semana, y un imprescindible para los fans de la saga y las aventuras gráficas. Buen diseño, buenos gráficos, y una historia que todos conocemos, con guiños a referentes de la cultura pop. Tiene sus fallos, claro, pero precisamente por eso no ha conseguido la puntuación más alta posible.

El juego está hecho con gusto pensando en crear algo más que un simple juego de objetos ocultos para ser un pequeño homenaje a dos personajes que muchos recordarán con nostalgia como reza uno de los ladillos que encontramos en el reportaje. Que la gente del estudio responsable de juegos para Ipad como Yesterday o, el ahora en un cajón, Day One, no se separe de la tableta de Apple es un buen augurio de cara a un futuro que puede traerles muchas satisfacciones si siguen en la brecha con los juegos para tablet.

La historia mola, y la mezcla de búsqueda de objetos escondidos y resolución de puzles consigue enganchar, aunque un poco más de variedad y toques de aventura no le hubieran venido nada mal.

That touch of class exudes throughout the rest of Hidden Runaway, propelling it above the typical heights of Hidden Object gaming. The story is interesting and charming with the playable elements just as intriguing. It’s an all round sterling package.

Everything about Hidden Runaway is polished, from the animations to the art style. It's just a shame that the heart of the game is so underwhelming. Hidden Runaway remains a curio for fans of the series, and an entertaining but flawed experience for the rest of us.

With its decent puzzles and wonderful presentation, Hidden Runaway has a lot of potential as both a nostalgia trip and a means to revive adventure games on a new platform. Unfortunately, the wretched hidden object component makes it a hard game to recommend. Newcomers will quickly get frustrated, and the series’ fans will wind up on the couch alongside Gina and Brian as one more victim of a broken heart. 

My disappointment knows no bounds with this release. I was hoping for another great adventure game with maybe only a few hidden object sequences, but I was wrong. And it’s not as if I don’t like Hidden Object games! I’ve played a bunch of the Big Fish ones and they were great because you were timed, they were creative, and the stakes were higher. Hidden Runaway’s puzzles just felt tedious, like, “Oh, hey. Look for some screws. Just ’cause. And take all the time you need, bro. The story will still be here. Bet you’d like to know what happens, huh?” What a missed opportunity. Until they release a port of the original, this game’s better off being hidden away in the far-off recesses of the App Store.
