Car voilà, Koral est plus qu’un simple jeu vidéo. C’est avant tout une oeuvre militante. Sous la forme d’une expérience socio – éducative, le jeu nous explique et nous montre ce que nous, humains, faisons endurer au monde animal et végétal qui nous entoure. Dans ce cas précis la vie sous marine et la destruction des récifs de coraux.

Una experiencia única, que podría recomendar a cualquier persona, aunque es una pena que su mensaje a veces se quede un poco corto.

Koral es un juego que te absorbe y te atrapa con el conjunto de sus ideas. Tal vez sea esa chispa de las explosiones de vida que nacen de cada uno de los rompecabezas que completamos la razón por la que no nos despegamos en ningún momento de los controles de nuestra corriente marina, o quizás por su facilidad para superar sus gratificantes e inteligentes puzzles. La accesibilidad de su planteamiento con la intención de que todos podamos vivir esta bonita experiencia es seguramente su mayor virtud y su principal diferencia frente al resto de propuestas del mercado.

La  duración de la experiencia no llega a las tres horas, pero no necesita más. Koral es un agradable paseo al que no le sobra nada, que va al grano y que te deja pensando, que se juega con muchísimo disfrute y que se goza con los ojos y con el cerebro. Carlos Coronado nos brinda, así, otro videojuego sobresaliente que destaca por su contención y frescura. Pilladlo en Switch y dedicadle toda vuestra atención una tarde. Lo agradeceréis.

Koral is a game that I was looking forward to reviewing, and I’m happy to report that it has everything I wanted and then some. I was thrilled to see the accessibility features on offer since you can choose the font size of the in-game text, which is absolutely fabulous since it makes the game more accessible for those with hearing and sight loss. With the one-button gameplay the game is also highly accessible to those with joint issues. I have nothing but high praise for the team who made a great effort into making their game as accessible as possible, while also giving us a game that is very relaxing and fun to play!

En general, el juego me ha parecido bastante bueno y muy recomendable para cualquier público, ya sea por los puzles o simplemente por el apartado visual y sonoro. También he sabido cosas nuevas del océano gracias a este juego gracias a los datos, que son la realidad que se representa en pantalla o se vive en el mundo real. 

Amb un poderós missatge que va més enllà del que es pot observar a la pantalla de la nostra consola o plataforma de joc, Koral es postula com a candidat molt ferm per convertir-se en una de les principals aventures a posar d'exemple per demostrar el grandiós talent multimèdia de casa nostra. Amb un estil gràfic espectacular i una curiosa jugabilitat en forma de 'puzles' mesclats amb el 'walking simulator', Carlos Coronado ens torna a demostrar que la filosofia i les tècniques transmitives sorgides del fons de l'ànima porten gairebé tot el pes de la qualitat d'un element audiovisual. Molt lligat a la moral, a l'ètica i als sentiments humans, tindrem una relació total amb el joc des del primer minut. Absolutament recomanat.

Koral apuesta por la sencillez y la simplicidad para transmitir un mensaje más necesario que nunca en estos tiempos. Con un diseño artístico que deja con la boca abierta y una banda sonora totalmente acorde a la temática, este juego no decepcionará a los fans de los juegos-experiencia

Koral’s initial premise looks simple but it holds a much more deep and profound meaning. You feel true wonder and amazement as you bring life back to the underwater world. It has reawakened a passion in this old Diver’s soul of mine and I find it both educational and impactful.

Koral teaches a hard lesson that needs to be taught to everyone. We are destroying the coral reefs, and we have to do something about it. With vast oceans to explore and loads of detail and color, Koral is a great pickup. There are over thirty collectibles to collect and discover, with all of them providing facts about what is happening to the coral reefs. Although there is not much replayability, the experience and knowledge gained from the game was eye opening, and needs to be seen by everyone who cares about the oceans.

Una experiencia relajante que no parece destinada ni a los amantes de las grandes aventuras, ni a los más veteranos del género de los rompecabezas pero, a fin de cuentas, un título que cualquier persona puede y debe experimentar por sí mismo.

Thus, this is basically an interactive form of the many PSAs that have come out over the years about the importance of taking care of the environment. While some may see this as being too “preachy,” I think Koral‘s way of handling this is actually rather beautiful. It wraps up this message in a neat little puzzle game that exudes a lot of character and can be enjoyed by both skilled and novice gamers. Even though it’s not heavy on content, it’s a relaxing experience that you can embed yourself in for a while and get lost in the world below that, as the game points out, we really don’t know all that much about.

Hermosísimo a nivel visual y sonoro, aunque simple de puzzles y corto a nivel jugable, Koral es un viaje concienciador de esos que los videojuegos nos dan y que francamente nos encantan vivir. Porque no todo son tiros, campañas de 50 horas, mapeados abiertos ni climax constante. A veces menos de 3 horas de belleza submarina y gameplay sencillo salpicado de instantes contemplativos son el descanso que necesitamos. Un juego para desintoxicarte de otros juegos, sin duda.

Quizá Koral no sea el mejor juego del mundo, y mucho menos la mejor obra de Carlos Coronado, pero lo que si es verdad es que logra transmitir la naturaleza en su máximo esplendor. Su punto fuerte es la concordia entre lo visual y lo sonoro, y aunque no logra ser lo mejor en su apartado jugable, es un juego que debería probar todo el mundo para concienciarse un poquito sobre el medio ambiente.

Carlos ha conseguido transmitir sus dos pasiones en uno para crear una experiencia sencilla en la que el jugador descubrirá la situacion de los arrecifes de coral. La armonía visual y sonora es excelente y consigue atraparte de principio a fin. 

Koral is a good little puzzler though many will find it very easy to get through. As an educational tool Koral definitely has value to raise awareness of climate change and the impact of pollution on our oceans. As a game it Koral is a simple affair that plays well. It may lack much challenge for puzzle fans, but this is an engaging and thought provoking experience.

Koral is a relatively simple experience for what it’s worth. It is a really enjoyable one though. If you see the images and think it looks like your kind of thing, it likely is! There isn’t too much to handle, and the systems in place are relatively intuitive and easy to pick up. 

Koral brings us on a journey to better understand the destructive nature of certain fishing practices, climate change, and more. The journey is a gorgeous, but humbling one. Highly accessible controls let you control the current of the ocean to solve lightweight puzzles and revitalize the ocean. With 10 chapters to explore, there’s a reasonable amount of content, but it won’t have much in the way of replayability once you’re done, although it’s still a worthwhile journey to embark on.

Koral's ambition to bring awareness to the problems faced by marine life largely falls flat. While it looks nice, the formulaic and repetitive gameplay means this title fails to stand out in a sea of similar indie releases.

I would recommend KORAL to anyone who wants an easy, mellow experience where they’re going to oscillate between incredulous horror at the environmental atrocities of humans and the wonderful majesty of the ocean.

Koral is part science display, part puzzle game, and all design compromise. It feels like a roadmap on what not to do when designing an environmentally conscious game. Without a doubt, the visuals are initially captivating, but their flair quickly wears off and you’re left with the game’s dismal content. The game provides a clunky experience that doesn’t satisfy in any meaningful manner. Too shallow in both its educational content and puzzle-solving gameplay, Koral finds the perfect middle ground to embody an especially painful kind of mediocrity.
