The game was recently released after a year of updates and extreme polishing in Early Access, so it’s one of the games that EA actually made them better and one of those that actually get a release rather than lingering in EA forever, so kudos to the developers. That being said, Ziggurat 2 is a huge improvement over the original, and we strongly recommend it if you’re looking for one of the best fast-paced FPS that has both a nice storyline, an addictive game loop, and a multitude of modes to sink your teeth into!

Overall Ziggurat II provides players with yet another fantastic FPS rogue-lite adventure that can be enjoyed for hours. Whilst the campaign may only set you back around 5 or 6 hours, seeing everything this game has to offer is certainly going to push that time up to more than 50 hours, and with fantastic detail, impressive visuals, polished gameplay and some truly enjoyable content, this is going to be one of the surprise hits of 2022, one which certainly deserves a spot in your gaming library.

Ziggurat 2 è dichiaratamente un “more of the same” del suo predecessore. Questo però nella migliore accezione possibile. I ragazzi di Milkstone Studios non si sono solo limitati ad aggiungere molta più varietà e contenuti, ma sono andati anche a risolvere molte delle criticità che affliggevano il primo capitolo. Il risultato è una formula da sparatutto roguelite notevolmente migliorata, che offre un senso di progressione tangibile e divertimento a palate. Senza dimenticare, all’occorrenza, un livello di sfida che metterà a dura prova anche i veterani degli fps arena. Well done, sorcerer.

Ziggurat 2 is a really nice surprise; one that is highly recommended for old school Quake fans who have missed that arena-based shooter feel. I warmly accepted the challenge which was presented in-game and look forward to my next run with new characters. That in itself is testament for a genre and type that I would usually avoid.

Ziggurat 2 resta però un prodotto valido, a cui puoi aggiungere mezzo punto se non sei troppo infastidito dall’eccessiva enfasi posta sui combattimenti, a discapito delle altre meccaniche.

El equipo español Milkstone Studios ha realizado un buen trabajo. Ziggurat 2 ha sido rediseñado desde cero con el objetivo de mejorar al juego original en todos los aspectos y obtener un juego aún más trepidante y fluido, con sesiones más rápidas e intensas y una progresión más interactiva y satisfactoria.

My hatred of carrots propelled me forward (even when they mixed sentient chilli peppers into their ranks, who explode when you kill them, the spicy nuisances!) but there are other modes, such as daily challenges available to those who might find the grind becoming a little monotonous. More complex rooms are added the further into the game you get, but they’re mainly variations of closing down minion wave spawns and then killing off the lingering forces. Ziggurat 2 doesn’t really hold up to extended playing and is the kind of game best sampled in little slices, in running a few dungeons at a time and then getting out before it all starts to blur together. Sometimes, to get the best out of guerrilla wizarding, you just have to stay out of the fight for a spell.
