Everhood 2 is a great follow up from the 2021 original game. The philosophical conversations, paired with quirky humor offers an interesting blend that wonderfully supports each other through the story. Combine this with an incredible combat system and score and you get an absolute banger that I’m still thinking about long after finishing the game. 

A survival horror experience that is filled with amazing ideas. Blood is the focal point not just for health but for ammunition, a rich and vibrant game setting, and unique enemy types that more often than not plays it a bit too safe with things that fans of the genre have experienced countless times before. The future looks bright for Vermila Studios, and I can't wait to see them build upon this rock-solid foundation in the future.

Overall, Frank and Drake isn't perfect, but what it does well, it really does well. The game's narrative is refreshing and takes game writing in an interesting new direction. The game's art and animation are super engaging and left me wanting more. The puzzles need work, but their overall path feels suitable for this type of game. Rehashing some of the puzzles to be more user-friendly would go a long way, and aside from a few minor technical hiccups, players won't experience too many stoppages that take them out of the experience. If you like narrative adventures with poetic art and storytelling, Frank and Drake's minor missteps will hardly be a blip on your gaming radar.
