Neon Blood es una aventura gráfica de auténtico sobresaliente cuya trama te atrapa desde que esta da comienzo, invitándote de forma constante a continuar su desarrollo mientras se explora todos y cada uno de los rincones que forman parte de la ciudad de Viridis. Acabar con toda la corrupción y devolver la paz a las calles y habitantes de la ciudad, solo será posible si el detective Axel McCain, en compañía de sus aliados, derrocan a los peligrosos poderes presentes. Si además de gustarte las aventuras gráficas, te apasiona la estética píxel, este título 'Made in Spain' te encantará.

Neon Blood combina una narrativa atrapante, mecánicas sólidas y un mundo vibrante que sin dudas, te dará todo lo que estás buscando y más en un juego de este estilo. Una auténtica joya del panorama independiente español que merece mucho la pena, y que te cautivará desde los primeros compases hasta su final. La duración del juego es de alrededor de 4-5 horas para los más dedicados aunque se puede acabar antes. Me habría gustado personalmente, que fuera más larga de todo lo que la he disfrutado.

Neon Blood es un aventura gráfica con toques de RPG con una sublime ambientación ciberpunk y una gran narrativa de marcado carácter noir. Si buscáis una aventura breve, visualmente impactante y con un enfoque narrativo, Neon Blood es una opción que merece bastante la pena, siempre y cuando estéis dispuesto a perdonar sus limitaciones.

Estamos ante un título que consigue una gran atmósfera gracias a su ambientación y su acabado gráfico, que podría desarrollar más sus diferentes componentes, como son la trama principal, su vertiente de investigación, así como los combates por turnos, pero el concepto general atrapa de principio a fin, y queremos vivir la historia de Axel McCoin sin soltar el mando.

Si disfrutas con la ciencia ficción, las ambientaciones futuristas y las series o películas de detectives, Neon Blood está hecho perfectamente para ti. ChaoticBrain Studios ha conseguido desarrollar una muy buena aventura narrativa que mezcla de maravilla la estética cyberpunk con el cine negro. Aun con todos los clichés del género, su historia está realmente bien escrita y nos presenta una amplia variedad de personajes con los que charlar para conocer más sobre sus vidas o su personalidad.

Logrando adelantarse a los títulos más prometedores del pixel art cyberpunk, Neon Blood sorprende con un apartado visual sobresaliente y su deslumbrante atmósfera, en un juego donde los únicos “peros” son una jugabilidad limitada y su reducida duración.

Neon Blood is a game based on an interesting premise and an excellent artistic and audiovisual section, an excellent letter of introduction for one of the most anticipated Spanish indies of the year.

Neon Blood es un buen primer juego, y espero que sea todo un éxito para poder jugar próximamente una secuela que pula todas las asperezas de este primer intento, al mismo tiempo que nos regalo mucho más lore de este mundo tan interesante.

Neon Blood es un juego que sin duda es visual y artísticamente llamativo. La combinación de su estética pixel art con el 3D de los escenarios es sublime e incluso el argumento es interesante, pero todo se desarrolla demasiado rápido, casi como si lo anterior dejara de tener interés suficiente. Los combates son demasiado sencillos o simples, y no ofrecen motivación más allá de ser otro trámite en pos de la propia historia, lo cual podía haberse mejorado añadiendo acompañantes o incluyendo una cierta estrategia en los mismos.

ChaoticBrain Studios ha logrado con muy pocos recursos un título notable. Nos apena ver que se han desperdiciado recursos en el combate cuando sin él es igualmente bueno o se podría haber dedicado ese tiempo en crear mejores puzles. Sin embargo, es un título muy disfrutable de principio a fin con una historia que engancha y te mantiene atrapado las 3 horas que dura. Su diseño y estilo son muy peculiares, pero atrapan y casan muy bien entre sí ofreciendo una experiencia inmersiva y divertida.

The narrative is compelling but uneven, the combat lacks depth, and the world, while visually stunning, sometimes feels underutilized. Despite these flaws, the game is a worthwhile journey for fans of the genre, especially those drawn to its retro-inspired aesthetic and timely exploration of societal issues. With further refinement, the concepts at play here could truly shine, making Neon Blood a promising stepping stone for ChaoticBrain Studios.

Neon Blood stands out for its art, featuring incredible environments, great pixel art, and incredible hand-drawn cutscenes. However, the rest of the gameplay and narrative features a disappointing lack of depth, preventing the game from reaching its full potential.

Para quienes buscan una breve incursión en el cyberpunk con un enfoque narrativo y visual llamativo, Neon Blood puede ser una opción atractiva. Sin embargo, aquellos que busquen una jugabilidad más elaborada o un mundo más interactivo podrían quedar algo decepcionados. Es un título que deslumbra en lo visual y entretiene durante sus 5 o 6 horas, pero que no logra trascender debido a su superficialidad jugable y algunos fallos técnicos. Una base prometedora que con algunos ajustes podría convertirse en un referente dentro de la escena.

Nos invita a vivir una breve pero intensa aventura narrativa cyberpunk cuyo argumento os mantendrá enganchados hasta ver la pantalla de créditos. Pero si por algo destaca el título es por su fabuloso apartado artístico que combina personajes pixelados con escenarios tridimensionales.

Neon Blood es una aventura de exploración con una historia y ambientación brillantes, con un apartado artístico sobresaliente, pero que falla en puntos importantes de su jugabilidad como el combate repetitivo y simple o el exceso de vueltas por los escenarios. No me malinterpretes, no es un mal juego ni mucho menos, está bien, pero me siento decepcionado porque la opera prima de ChaoticBrain Studios tenía el material, las ideas y los mimbres necesarios para crear una obra de culto, y se ha quedado en un título que "se perderá en el tiempo, como lágrimas en la lluvia. Hora de morir."

Su historia me ha encantado, inmersiva muy bien escrita y guionizada que se apresura un poco al final de la misma pero en líneas generales muy agradable de experimentar haciendo que sus personajes principales, en especial Axel McCoin mantengan con su carisma gran parte de la narrativa y si además te gusta el género, el Cyber Noir es una aventura bastante recomendable. 

I hope a lot of folks connect with Neon Blood in a way that I sadly couldn’t, as there really is a lot to enjoy here, but the choices in gameplay mechanics did wear me down in the end.

Neon Blood was still an enjoyable ride despite the issues listed, mainly again due to that stellar presentation and a tale that, while not exactly original, was executed well (and briefly) enough to keep our interest high throughout.

Although graphically impressive and it does manage to tell a decent story, Neon Blood’s gameplay may prove to be too lacking for any RPG fan. The game has the makings for a great adventure game if it were a couple hours longer perhaps but, it’s bare bones and unchallenging gameplay left quite a lot to be desired.

While it has the retro techno-noir look and general tone covered, clunky mechanics and weak combat hold it back

"Neon Blood" appealed to me primarily because of its looks. Pixel art mixed with hand-drawn cutscenes in comic style - that sounded really good. Unfortunately, in the end it remained a pleasure for the eyes and less for the players. The story never goes beyond okay status, and the fights are inconsequential and almost boring. There is no kind of level system or skill tree where new skills can be unlocked. The few skills you get during the story have little influence on the gameplay and don't make the fights more tactical. Since the use of skills in battle is not tied to action points or the like, nothing stops me from simply spamming the "Headshot" skill until my opponent falls over. All planning and tactics fly completely out the window. If you add to this the fact that the German translation reads a bit like fresh from Google Translate and that the game crashed twice, "Neon Blood" unfortunately doesn't remain much more than a pretty façade with little behind it.

Axel McCoin debe investigar un complot corpo mientras trata de recordar su pasado en Neon Blood. Su estilo a caballo entre el Pixel Art y los entornos renderizados en 3D nos ofrece una propuesta jugable que recuerda en lo visual a los experimentos de los 90 y, en su estructura, a los viejos juegos de Nintendo 8 bits. Una experiencia que funciona pero nos deja a medias en algunos aspectos.

Playing through Neon Blood it is easy to see that it is a labor of love from some passionate developers. The pixel artwork and setting of the game are impressive and gorgeous looking at times and there is a certain level of detail to the world building that feels like there could be so much more to the game. But that feeling is sadly one that persists throughout many aspects of it, as the storyline itself isn’t bad but lacks impact thanks to its short length and lack of background details for certain characters outside of Mc Coin and the combat is bare bones at best and lackluster at its worst. With a handful of bugs accompanying it as well, it feels like Neon Blood could have been much more. 

Dispiace perché è un indie realizzato da un minuscolo studio di sviluppo, ma Neon Blood merita quel “nella media” affibbiatogli dagli utenti Steam. L’art style in cui passato e futuro danno vita a un’affascinante realtà urbana distopica non riesce a nascondere, sotto la sua ammaliante veste pixellata, le magagne. Nonostante la breve durata, la mancanza di profondità tra fasi investigative, esplorazione e combattimenti fa in tempo a lasciare l’amaro in bocca, coadiuvata da alcuni intoppi tecnici di troppo. Il gameplay monotono risulta privo d’attrattiva e stimoli, finendo per sprecare un contesto tinteggiato di cyberpunk al punto giusto, in cui le luci al neon riescono a far apparire più sexy di quel che effettivamente è anche una trama nella norma.

Pour conclure, l’histoire de Neon Blood s’inspire fortement de Cyberpunk 2077. Le clin d'œil est sympathique. Et quand on commence l’aventure, on se dit que ça peut être drôle d’avoir un jeu du même style que Cyberpunk 2077, mais en pixelart. Malheureusement, le jeu de ChaoticBrain Studios est bien trop basique. Il y a très peu de combats. L’exploration est quasi inexistante. Et après seulement 3 petites heures, on peut déjà l’oublier. Certes, il y a de nombreuses références à trouver. Mais on aurait préféré passer du temps à trouver des collectibles ou faire quelques quêtes supplémentaires, au lieu d’essayer de chercher les jeux qui sont mis en avant dans cette aventure.

Neon Blood besticht durch seinen einzigartigen Pixel-Look und eine spannende Story, leidet jedoch unter zu einfachen Kämpfen und verschenktem Gameplay-Potenzial. Die Präsentation ist beeindruckend, aber das Gameplay hätte deutlich mehr strategische Tiefe vertragen können. Einige Charaktere hätten mehr Tiefe und Entwicklung verdient, was das narrative Potenzial des Spiels leider schmälert. Trotzdem bietet Neon Blood eine visuell fesselnde Erfahrung, die Fans von Cyberpunk-Settings begeistern dürfte.

Un cóctel de géneros que nunca termina de despuntar en ninguno de sus ingredientes, pero que consigue ofrecer una buena inmersión. 

Audiovisualmente magnífico, pero con jugabilidad dispersa y aburrida con frecuencia.

Una aventura cyberpunk con un pixel art hecho a mano increíble y unos entornos 2.5D preciosos. La aventura de Alex McCoin es interesante, pero tiene muchos aspectos por mejorar.

Neon Blood es un título desarrollado por ChaoticBrain Studio, que en un principio parecía ser muy ambicioso, pero se ha quedado a medio camino. Su sistema de combate por turnos parece anunciarnos que es un RPG, cuando realmente no termina siéndolo. La historia comienza con muy buen pie, pero acaba decayendo en diálogos monótonos y con poca profundidad. Sentimos que los apartados narrativo y la jugabilidad no se encuentran al nivel del artístico, algo que, sin duda alguna, lamentamos profundamente.

Neon Blood opens with some undeniable potential, but it's too short and ultimately feels hollow.

Neon Blood ist mehr ein (isometrischer) Walking Simulator als ein Point and Click-Adventure oder ein Rollenspiel. Die Rätsel sind dünn gesät, die meiste Zeit lauft ihr nur durch die Gegend bis ihr an den Punkt kommt (und mit ihm interagiert), der die Story voranbringt. Euer Charakter wird im Laufe des Spieles stärker, aber eine ernsthafte Charakterentwicklung wie bei einem Rollenspiel gibt es nicht. Es kommt an einigen Stellen zu rundenbasierten Kämpfen, die aber eher nervend als spannend sind. Dennoch macht es Spaß, sich die detaillierte Stadt und ihre seltsamen Bewohner anzusehen und die (eher kurzen) Texte zu lesen. Qualitativ sonderlich hochwertig sind die Texte zwar nicht, aber die Darstellung des Lebens in einer nahen Cyberpunk-Zukunft hat einen gewissen Charme, und auch die – recht kurze – Geschichte ist schlussendlich ganz unterhaltsam. Euer abgewrackter Charakter, der quasi jeden anpöbelt, der ihm über den Weg läuft, ist vielleicht kein wirklicher Sympathieträger, aber zumindest erfahrt ihr im Laufe des Spieles ein paar Dinge, die manche seiner Charakterzüge ein wenig verständlicher machen. Empfehlenswert, wenn ihr das Cyberpunk-Setting mögt und kein Problem mit dieser Mischung aus simplem Adventure und primitivem JRPG habt.

Neon Blood will likely grab you from the outset thanks to its interesting premise and attractive visual style. Unfortunately, poor localisation, unrewarding combat and some other issues pull the whole experience down.

Neon Blood, on its surface, is a stunning pixelated cyberpunk adventure that boasts an intriguing plot. However, players will unfortunately find that when they spend more time with the game it is riddled with clunky traversal, uninspiring combat and the lack of accessibility features. Though Neon Blood looks like it would be an exciting cyberpunk adventure, the issues make it visually gorgeous but not a super fun experience.

But still, I wouldn't say the game is all that bad. It may be rather thin and far too light, but when the world is so beautiful and overflowing with Easter eggs and homages to other cyberpunk classics, it still makes for a rather enjoyable journey. Neon Blood's short running time is an advantage because there is not enough content and ideas to fill more hours of entertainment. However, I wish Chaotic Brain had chosen to give the story more weight and a darker tone. They never managed to capture me and it feels like they themselves were lost and didn't really know in which direction they wanted to take the adventure.
